The master degree by coursework is a postgraduate course of advanced study in computer science and software engineering for computing graduates wishing to enhance their computing skills, explore current technologies and research future applications.
General knowledge about computing and its application.
Developing of skills to undertake systematic research and solving of complex applied computing problems, development of skills in areas of computing including networks and security, internet and intranets, interactive multimedia, data mining, adaptive business intelligence and health informatics is involved. Key learning objectives include designing, planning and organizing technology-based projects that are produced on time, to high standards and within budget. Development of analytical, research, strategic planning and project management skills is also involved.
Possession of a degree or graduate diploma in Computing. Applicants will normally be expected to have achieved a grade of credit or better in four Advanced Computing units. If a candidate does not possess the four credits from their degree they can complete a bridging component of four Advanced Computing units or they can enrol in a Masters of Information Technology.
Up on completion of this degree, students become eligible for student membership of the Australian Computer Society (ACS) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE).
The range of careers is wide, including website management, system administration, client support , training, program design, development , testing, mobile computing , telecommunications, graphics, internet , web engineering and artificial intelligence.
