This course prepares students for an active and effective role in the growing Asia-Pacific region. Students will also understand the major functions of business with an international perspective on commercial strategies and operations, as well as its social, cultural and political dimensions, and may also undertake language study. Students will also have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in international markets, and to live, work and study in another country. Students can take an internship with an international company or government agency, conduct market research in a target export or investment country, join a multinational company offshore on an internship, prepare an export marketing plan for a product or service or a development plan for a new product.Students may be selected to participate in an exchange with a university in Japan, Indonesia, China, Korea, Vietnam, South America, Europe or the United States. Griffith University also provides generous scholarships to help and encourage students to undertake these exchange programs.
Good knowledge of business.
In this course the major studies include gaining of skills related to a set of core courses, a choice of electives drawn from Business, Society and Culture and economics courses, and a capstone that integrates concepts students have been exposed to in the major. The other core courses include key business courses in ethics, history and management.
Up on completing this degree from Griffith university students become eligible to apply for admission to one or more of the following professional bodies such as Australian Human Resource Institute, The Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS).
Students will be well prepared for a satisfying and rewarding career with internationally oriented trade and investment organizations, or within the public and private sectors in management, strategic planning, research, corporate/government relations, and public relations.
A minimum overall band score of 6.5 on IELTS (Academic) with no sub-score of less than 6.0, A minimum score of 575 on TOEFL, an internet-based (iBT) TOEFL score of 88 (no score less than 21).
