In this course students develop IT skills to build and use information systems, manage data, or build client-server web applications. In this degree students will explore one of three areas: Software Technology, focusing on: programming, software engineering, discrete mathematics. Business Information Systems, focusing on: information systems concepts and issues, information systems for management, information systems audit and assurance. Web design and development, focusing on: the technology that makes the web work, web design principles and practice, web development methodologies.
Good knowledge of Mathematics and Computers.
Major study in this course includes gaining of knowledge related to Introduction to Computer Science, Discrete Mathematics, Introduction to Systems Design and Data Management, Database Systems. Students can select one subject from Business Information Systems, Software Technology, Web Design and Development.
Students are eligible to this course if they have HSC Information Processes and Technology and/or HSC Software Design and Development, or international equivalents.
This course is accredited by Australian Computer Society.
Students of this course will have career as business analyst, cloud researcher, communication systems analyst, database administrator, end-user support and training, IT sales or marketing, IT or management consultant, programmer.
