This course aims to give students skills and knowledge related to the prevention and treatment of disorders of the foot and ankle, through practical experience in podiatry. As well as covering common healthcare problems, students will learn about podiatry treatment involved in complex medical conditions such as diabetes or rheumatoid arthritis. The curriculum encompasses specialized areas of podiatry such as sports injuries, pediatrics and surgery. Extensive clinical training helps students to apply theoretical knowledge: students will treat patients in specialized on-campus clinical teaching environments, and do external placements at hospitals, health centers and private practices.
Good knowledge of Biology and Chemistry.
Gaining of knowledge related to Academic Integrity, Human Biosciences, Introduction to Professional Practice, Individual Determinants of Health, Research and Evidence in Practice, Social Determinants of Health, Anatomy: Lower Limb & Foot, Pathophysiology, Integrating Evidence into Practice, Introduction to Podiatry Practice, Medical Microbiology for Podiatry, Foundations in Pharmacology for Podiatrists, Normal and Pathological Movement are the concepts included as major parts in this course.
Students are eligible to this course if they have LTM Foundation Studies – 80, International Baccalaureate – 27, GCE A Levels – 11, HKDSE - 3 x Level 4, Sri Lankan A Levels – ABB, STPM – 9.33, MICSS (UEC) – 4, Canada Secondary School (or CPU) – 75, Norway Upper Secondary Certificate – 4.5, Sweden Slutbetyg - G/VG, All Indian Sen SC (Best 5 Subjects) – 75, Vietnam (Year 12) - 8.2, Indonesia (SMA) – 8.2, GAC Cert. IV - GPA 3.
This course is accredited by national professional association, the Health Information Management Association of Australia.
Students of this course will have Podiatrists work in a variety of settings, including public and private practice, community health centers, hospitals and academia.  They work with people of all ages in a wide range of clinical settings, such as pediatrics, surgery and sports.
