Occupational therapists help people with various health conditions and disabilities, improving their ability to perform tasks in their daily life and work. Aiming to qualify students to work in various occupational therapy roles, this course covers the knowledge and skills that students need to assess and treat patients, including the use of occupations, intervention techniques, the design of equipment, and adaptation of environments.
Good knowledge of Biology and Chemistry.
Gaining of knowledge related to Academic Integrity, Human Biosciences, Introduction to Professional Practice, Individual Determinants of Health, Research and Evidence in Practice, Social Determinants of Health, Experimental Foundations of Psychological Science, Anatomy: Vertebral Column, Lower and Upper Limb, Integrating Evidence into Practice, Clinical Foundations of Psychological Science, Pathophysiology, Anatomy and Neurosciences, Participation in Diverse Communities through Service Learning, Sociology of Health and Illness are the concepts included as major parts in this course.
Students are eligible to this course if they have LTM Foundation Studies – 80, International Baccalaureate – 30, GCE A Levels – 13, HKDSE - 2 x Level 5, Sri Lankan A Levels – AAB, STPM – 10.33, MICSS (UEC) – 3, Canada Secondary School (or CPU) – 80, Norway Upper Secondary Certificate – 5, Sweden Slutbetyg - VG, All Indian Sen SC (Best 5 Subjects) – 80, Vietnam (Year 12) -8.5, Indonesia (SMA) – 8.5, GAC Cert. IV - GPA 3.
This course is accredited by Australian Association of Occupational Therapists.
Students of this course will work in health and welfare systems including general hospitals, rehabilitation centers, community health services, mental health agencies, health services for older people and children with special needs, and support services for intellectually disadvantaged people.
