Actuaries analyse and manage the risks associated with finance. By studying actuarial studies with either mathematics or statistics students will gain a competitive set of specialist skills. In this degree students can major in both actuarial studies and science. The combination will give students a deeper understanding of the financial, mathematical, statistical and economic analysis needed in long term financial management.

Gaining of knowledge related to Techniques and Elements of Finance, Introduction to Actuarial Studies, Mathematics IB (Advanced), Statistical Data Analysis, Mathematics IA (Advanced), Mathematics of Finance, Combinatorial Probability, Contingent Payments, Statistics, Probability, Survival Models are the concepts included as major parts in this course.
Students are eligible to this course if they have Advanced knowledge of mathematics (HSC Mathematics Extension 1 band E4, or international equivalent).
This course is accredited by the Institute of Actuaries of Australia (IAAust).
