This finance course will give students the specialist training to manage funds and investments in the complex world of markets, banks, laws, financial instruments and businesses. In this course students will study economics, accounting, current financial theory, mathematical techniques such as probability or statistics, how to analyse results. This applied finance degree has a focus on applying these skills to real financial organisations, markets and instruments. Students will learn spreadsheet and programming skills alongside mathematical development of finance theories, stochastic analysis.
Good knowledge of Mathematics.
Gaining of knowledge related to Techniques and Elements of Finance, Macroeconomic Principles, Microeconomic Principles, Accounting IA or Accounting Information for Decision-Making, Introductory Statistics or Statistical Data Analysis, Applied Financial Analysis and Management, Financial Modelling, Mathematics of Finance, Microeconomic Analysis, Macroeconomic Analysis, Introductory Econometrics, Statistics, Probability, Issues in Applied Finance, Financial Econometrics, Financial Risk Management, Security Pricing and Hedging, Applied Portfolio Management, Corporate Financial Design are the concepts included as major parts in this course.
Students are eligible to this course if they have Good knowledge of mathematics (HSC Mathematics band 4, or international equivalent).
This course is accredited by Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC).
