Macquarie University

Psychology will help students understand how people think, act and feel. It looks at why people behave the way they do and what motivates behaviours and social trends. This degree offers a multidisciplinary approach that will cover a range of subjects including psychological assessment, and the study into cognitive processes, development and learning. Macquarie Law will give students knowledge of legal principles and the critical and analytic skills to really understand them. Students will study established areas such as constitutional law, international law, contract law and family law. Students will also look at areas of contemporary concern such as consumer law, environmental law, health law and information technology law.

Gaining of knowledge related to Criminal Justice and Procedure, Foundations of Law, Contracts, Law, Lawyers and Society, Introduction to Psychology, Torts, Jurisprudence, Social and Personality Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Biopsychology and Learning, Cognitive Processes, Perception, Design and Statistics, Property Law, Equity and Trusts, Business Organisations, International Law, Principles of Psychological Assessment, Constitutional Law, Administrative Law are the concepts included as major parts in this course.
Students are eligible to this course if they have knowledge of mathematics (HSC Mathematics, or international equivalent).
This course is an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC).
Students of this course will have career as Legal practitioner such as a barrister or solicitor and in Business institutions such as human resources, training or marketing, Educational institutions as a research assistant, report writer, or academic, Government departments and agencies as a policy writer or researcher, Family or community based organisations, Health Services organisations.
