A commerce degree at Griffith will provide students with technical competencies and fundamental skills, particularly in the areas of effective communication, critical analysis, problem solving and teamwork. Major studies include Accounting principles, Auditing ,taxation ,relevant areas of business law,financial management. Students can also examine the development and communication of information relating to the financial performance of organisations, learn to prepare reports and give advice on an organisation's record-keeping and compliance requirements.
The Accounting major is accredited by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (ICAA) and CPA Australia.
The Bachelor of Commerce will equip students with the required technical and generic skills leading to a range of career options within both the private and public sectors including: Accounting major: accounting, administration, auditing, business management, commercial and taxation law, managerial accounting, taxation. Economics major: business management, economics, banking and finance, stockbroking, futures, options, and foreign exchange trading; taxation; statistics. Finance major: business management, financial advising or controlling, financial planning, insurance and superannuation, stockbroking, futures, options, and foreign exchange trading. Financial Planning major: business management, financial advising or controlling, financial planning, insurance and superannuation, stockbroking, futures, options, and foreign exchange trading.
A minimum overall band score of 6.0 on IELTS (Academic) with no sub-score of less than 5.5,a minimum score of 550 on TOEFL or an internet-based (iBT) TOEFL score of 79 (no score less than 19). English test results must be no more than two years old.
