In this course students will develop the skills and expertise to play a leading role in the commercial world. Monash's Bachelor of Commerce will give a thorough understanding of the economy and business, beyond the daily management of an organization. Students will learn how a business operates, as well as explore how all the economic, political, social, cultural and technological decisions that go along with businesses can positively and negatively impact on our society, or even the world. Bachelor of Commerce will give students the opportunity to grow critical-thinking skills and increase capacity to analyze complex problems and develop solutions for them. Our program offers core units that will introduce students to the key principles of commerce. Students can choose a major from a range of disciplines including management, accounting, economics, econometrics, marketing, business law, finance, sustainability and actuarial studies. Studying business at Monash, also gives the flexibility and choice to explore interests and discover new ones.

Major studies include Accounting principles, Auditing ,taxation ,relevant areas of business law,financial management. Students can also examine the development and communication of information relating to the financial performance of organisations, learn to prepare reports and give advice on an organisation's record-keeping and compliance requirements.
To be eligible to this course students need to have Australian Equivalent Year 12. All applicants should note that the English and mathematics prerequisites for the courses must be satisfied. A study score of at least 30 in English (EAL) or 25 in English other than EAL; and a study score of at least 25 in one of Maths: Mathematical Methods (CAS) or Maths: Specialist Mathematics.
Up on completion of this degree students get accreditation by the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) and the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA).
There are few study areas that open up as many career opportunities as commerce. Our graduates work all over the world. They work in banking, politics, management and insurance. They work for the government and corporations. The range of career options depends on the subjects chosen but, given we offer open electives with the possibility of a second major, graduates will be able to explore several career paths.Roles that graduates can pursue include operations manager for a small-to-medium enterprise, stockbroker for a national stock exchange, marketing consultant in a large corporation, self-employed financial advisor, or analyst for a bank or financial institution.
