Early childhood teachers work with children, families and communities to provide quality educational experiences for young children, including consultancy and professional development work in the area of children's services. This degree equips students for teaching in long day care, preschool and primary school settings. As part of this degree students will study how young children play, explore, learn and develop and grow into healthy children. Students will gain the skills to teach in long day care, preschool and primary school settings and develop foundational skills in managing and leading in educational environments.

Students seeking employment as a primary teacher in a NSW school students must have achieved a HSC English minimum Band 4 (Standard English, English as a Second Language or Advanced English) and HSC General Mathematics minimum Band 4 or completion of Math
This course is accredited by Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) and the NSW Institute of Teachers.
Students of this course will have career in Primary schools, NSW Government Department of Education and Training, Teaching positions in prior to school services such as long day-care centres, preschools and work-based care, TAFE teacher or VET teacher in Early Childhood Services.
