This degree explores the social, political, cultural, economic and environmental determinants and outcomes of health, locally and globally. With an interdisciplinary view of health and an integrated awareness of the determinants, distribution and consequences of health and ill-health in society, this degree offers a core set of units and electives from a wide variety of other fields. This degree’s flexible structure lets students incorporate electives such as development studies, economics, Indigenous studies and politics into their degree.

Gaining of knowledge related to Drugs across Cultures, Human Biology, Geographies of Global Change, Demographic Fundamentals, Illness and Healing, Geographical Perspectives on Population, Contemporary Health Issues, Methods of Social Research, Health Placement, Geographies of Health, Human Services in the 21st Century: Care, Gender and Institutions, Health Promotion, Legal, Ethical and Policy Directions in Health are the concepts included as major parts in this course.
Students of this course will have career in community development and social planner, health advocacy, policy and planner, health promotion and educator.
