Design and create video games and virtual worlds with the Bachelor of Information Technology – Games Design and Development course. This is the only degree in New South Wales that develops both the technical skills to create video games as well as a critical understanding of video games. This video games degree provides a thorough grounding in software design and development skills that’s equivalent to the standard Bachelor of Information Technology. Students will learn critical approach to video games as designs and cultural media products.

Gaining of knowledge related to Introduction to Computer Science, Discrete Mathematics, Introduction to Systems Design and Data Management, Introduction to Digital Media, Introduction to Video Games, Introduction to Video Games, Algorithms and Data Structures, Object-Oriented Programming Practices, Software Engineering, Game Design, Discrete Mathematics, Cyber cultures, Data Communications, Web Technology, Screenwriting: An Introduction, Videogames Project, Computer Graphics, Computer Networks, Sound, Image and Interactive Media are the concepts included as major parts in this course.
Students are eligible to this course if they have HSC Information Processes and Technology and/or HSC Software Design and Development, or international equivalents.
This course is accredited by Australian Computer Society.
This course prepares students for a career in games design and development. Students will also be equipped with the skills necessary for a career in the more general software industry.
