Psychology is the science of the human mind. It looks at why people behave the way they do and what motivates behaviours and social trends. In this degree students will use scientific methods to study personal and social issues. Students will be introduced to psychology and then study cognitive processes, psychological assessment, development and learning. Choosing psychology within a science degree allows students to pursue their interest in the science and scientific methods that researchers in psychology use to study behaviour. The focus is on developing scientific skills such as problem solving and critical thinking with peer assisted learning and practical work.

Gaining of knowledge related to Introduction to Psychology, Social and Personality Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Biopsychology and Learning, Cognitive Processes, Design and Statistics, Psychological Science: Putting Theory into Practice, Principles of Psychological Assessment are the concepts included as major parts in this course.
Students are eligible to this course if they have knowledge of mathematics (HSC Mathematics or international equivalents).
This course is accredited by Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC).
Students of this course will have career in Business areas such as: human resources, training or marketing, Educational institutions as a research assistant or report writer, Family or community based organisations, Government departments and agencies, Health Services organisations.
