General knowldege about Arts and Creative writing.

The main purpose and importance, intention of this course is that, upon completion of this course, students will be able to synthesize and contextualize an existing corpus of research-based scholarly literature and have developed extensive skills to enable them to design, conduct and critically appraise research using methods appropriate to the discipline.

The students must have any one of the following requirements a Bachelor of Arts degree or its equivalent from the University of Tasmania; a university degree from another university or tertiary institution, deemed to be appropriate by the Faculty of Arts. Candidates not holding a bachelor's degree but whose employment experience indicates a level of knowledge and skill deemed by the Faculty to be sufficient to complete the course satisfactorily may be deemed eligible for admission.

Students who have satisfactorily completed the requirements for the Graduate Certificate in Arts (Specialization) may proceed to the Graduate Diploma in Arts (Specialization). Where specializations permit, students who satisfactorily complete the requirements for the graduate diploma may then proceed to the Master of Arts (specialization). This course is accredited by the Public Relations Institute of Australia.

The study of this course enables the students to find career options in areas such as advertising, computing, creative writing, freelance writing and editing, journalism, media research, publishing or scriptwriting, and editing in community organisations or government departments.
