The E-health course offers students opportunities to develop skills and knowledge to use the tools of health information effectively.
General knowledge of Health Informatics.
The main studies included in this course are promoting the knowledge and skills to understand information technology and advanced telecommunications technology, create an awareness of the increasing role and potential of information technology and advanced telecommunications technology for effective and efficient health services, particularly for rural, remote and housebound consumers.
In order to qualify for admission to the Certificate or the Diploma courses, applicants should hold a three-year degree or a diploma with a major in a health related or communications technology area,have experience and/or qualifications as deemed appropriate by the Director of the UDRH.
On completion of the Certificate, students may be eligible to proceed to the H6EGraduate Diploma. Students who have completed either the Certificate or Diploma program become eligible to undertake a Master of E-Health (Health Informatics) program when it is introduced.The programs does not articulate with any other program within the University. This course is accredited by the Australasian College of Health Informatics (ACHI).
To provide health professionals and others with the theoretical and practical knowledge which will enable to take leading roles within the emerging field of Health Informatics.
