This major is a flexible program that prepares students for careers in a wide range of areas of health and medical sciences. By combining this major with other units to suit their interests, students can start their degree with a broad program that allows them to specialize as their interests develop. It is a suitable preparation for many postgraduate programs in the health and medical sciences field. In addition, the strong research focus of many of the units offered in this major means that students can also acquire a suitable background for medical and health research. Students will study core units in human physiology, it covers a broad range of areas relevant to human biology, from anatomy and biochemistry to genetics, epidemiology and the relationship between health and disease.

Gaining of knowledge related to Introduction to Engineering, Industry Experience, Engineering Research Thesis, Systems Design and Engineering, Engineering Principles and Practice, Evolution and Human Behavior, Human Biology, Evolution and Biodiversity, The Thread of Life, Introduction to Psychology, Systems Physiology, Neurophysiology, Illness and Healing, Animal Behavior, Organic Synthesis, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Contemporary Health Issues, Biopsychology and Learning, Applied Statistics, Advanced Human Physiology, Human Genetics Theory, Medicinal Chemistry, Medical Microbiology, Biochemistry and Cell Biology, Research Methods for Health Sciences, Health Promotion, Principles in Health and Disease, Clinical and Experimental Neuroscience, Biostatistics and Epidemiology are the concepts included as major parts in this course.
Students of this course will have career in forensic scientist, genetic counsellor, hospital scientist, medical researcher, pharmaceutical researcher and developer.
