This program will enhance analytical and problem-solving abilities and develop student’s understanding of basic principles of finance, econometrics, research and the analysis of financial markets. Student will have access to comprehensive financial databases and use sophisticated software like the Treasury Training Facility for option simulations and treasury dealing.
Applicants with a GPA lower than 2.0 may be considered based on additional tertiary education in a business discipline and work experience. Applicants are expected to have above average computer skills.
In this course major studies include analytical and problem-solving abilities , basic principles of finance, econometrics, research and the analysis of financial markets.
Completion of an Australian Bachelor degree or equivalent in any discipline that includes quantitative studies with a minimum average of 60%/ Credit or GPA 2.0 (out of 4.0).
Graduates qualify to become Senior Associates (SA Fin) of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia (Finsia) and a Certified Finance and Treasury Professional (CFTP) of the Finance and Treasury Association.
Graduates get employment in the financial sector or in the treasury/finance functions of large or small corporations. Job roles can include: banker, credit manager, financier, financial analyst , financial controller, finance director, fund manager, treasurer, stockbroker, working capital specialist.
