Macquarie University

The study of Chinese at Macquarie is based on Mandarin. Classes range from absolute beginner to native speakers. Students will gain an understanding of the language as well as knowledge of the society, culture and history of China. Students who study Chinese will find this choice a decisive factor in their lives and careers, as many of our graduates have done. Students can combine this program with a discipline such as economics, law or accounting to use Chinese professionally.

Major study in this course includes gaining of knowledge related to Introduction to Engineering, Engineering Research Thesis, Systems Design and Engineering, Engineering Principles and Practice, Chinese Capstone Unit.
Students of this course will have career as representatives of the Australian Government or companies in Asia, as teachers at primary and secondary level, or as academics specializing in the history or politics of China.
