The study of Chinese at Macquarie is based on Mandarin. Classes range from absolute beginner to native speakers. Students will gain an understanding of the language as well as knowledge of the society, culture and history of China. Students who study Chinese will find this choice a decisive factor in their lives and careers, as many of our graduates have done.

Gaining of knowledge related to The Psychological Context, The Social and Historical Context, Mathematics in Schools, Language, Literacy and Learning, Classroom Management and Assessment, Curriculum and Teaching in Primary School, Professional Experience in the Primary School, Reading Acquisition in the Primary Classroom, Chinese Capstone Unit are the concepts included as major parts in this course.
Students of this course will have career as representatives of the Australian Government or companies in Asia, as teachers at primary and secondary level, or as academics specializing in the history or politics of China.
