This course enhances the professional skills of students, UTAS has developed an education program to support the Department's workforce and to equip staff with the skills required to further their knowledge in management and leadership within the health sector.
Good knowledge of biology and communication skills.
The major studies embodied in this stream are development of skills to equip health and human services professionals with the knowledge and skills to successfully assume a range of leadership roles in health services in a wide variety of settings, the ability to recognise the need for and implement new organisational improvement projects and capitalise on opportunities for health and human services improvement projects.
An undergraduate degree of an Australian higher education institution or the equivalent standard in any other institution or equivalent experience and/or qualifications, as approved by the Dean.
This course articulates to the Graduate Certificate in Health and Human Services,Master of Health and Human Services. This course is accredited by the Rehabilitation Counselling Association of Australasia and the Australian Society of Rehabilitation Counsellors.
Upon successful completion of the Graduate Certificate in Human and Community Services, candidates can apply to Graduate Diploma in Policy Studies or Master of Policy Studies, or the Graduate Diploma in Social Work or Master of Social Work and are successful, may request credit for units of study completed in the Graduate Certificate.
