The Croatian Studies major provides a sound knowledge of the Croatian language and culture through intensive language teaching, a critical analysis of Croatian literature, history and culture. Macquarie was the first tertiary institution in Australia, and one of the first in the world, where Croatian language, literature and culture enjoyed full academic and cultural autonomy and freedom. The Centre is active in research and publication, including the Croatian Studies Review, which publishes research for Croatian and non-Croatian audiences.
