This course enhances the professional skills of students, UTAS has developed an education program to support the Department's workforce and to equip staff with the skills required to further their knowledge in management and leadership within the health sector.
Good knowledge of biology and communication skills.
The major studies includes development of wide spectrum to encourage health and human services professionals to engage critically with issues and trends in the delivery of contemporary health services,to create awareness of the increasing contribution of multi disciplinary and interprofessional work practices to health and human services,to foster an awareness of the growing importance of effective health and human services management, governance and leadership and to manage health and human services projects effectively.
An undergraduate degree of an Australian higher education institution or the equivalent standard in any other institution or equivalent experience and/or qualifications, as approved by the Dean.
This course articulates to the Graduate Certificate in Management and Leadership (Health and Human Services). This course is accredited by the Rehabilitation Counselling Association of Australasia and the Australian Society of Rehabilitation Counsellors.
Upon successful completion of the Graduate Certificate in Human and Community Services, candidates can apply to Graduate Diploma in Policy Studies or Master of Policy Studies, or the Graduate Diploma in Social Work or Master of Social Work and are successful, may request credit for units of study completed in the Graduate Certificate.
