Human resource management is a crucial function in medium and large organizations. It involves the management of employees and the employment relationship, including recruiting, selecting, remunerating, developing and retaining staff. The HR manager’s responsibilities include workforce and succession planning, performance management and training systems, equity and diversity across organizations. The Human Resources major prepares students to respond to new challenges and changes in the workplace. A strong emphasis is on understanding the processes and techniques that create and maintain high-performing, efficient and ethical organizations. Students will develop change management and sustainability techniques, gain coaching and consulting skills, learn how to formulate strategies to get the right employees, with the right skills, in the right place, at the right time.
