Finance is the study of: financial organizations, markets and instruments, their effect on the flow of funds within the economy, the control of risk. In this major students will investigate: corporate finance, investments, and financial markets. Students can complement their study with subjects in accounting, economics, statistics, computing and actuarial studies, to develop a sound understanding of the discipline and its practical applications.
Basic knowledge of Mathematics.
Gaining of knowledge related to Techniques and Elements of Finance, Macroeconomic Principles and Analysis, Microeconomic Principles and Analysis, Introductory Statistics, Statistical Data Analysis, Accounting Information for Decision-Making, Applied Financial Analysis and Management, Introductory Econometrics, Issues in Applied Finance, Security Pricing and Hedging, Financial Statement Analysis, Financial Risk Management, Applied Portfolio Management, Corporate Financial Design, The Economics of Financial Institutions, Money and Finance, International Finance are the concepts included as major parts in this course.
Students are eligible to this course if they have HSC General Mathematics.
Students of this course will have career as a Banker, Corporate manager, financial planner/adviser, Foreign exchange dealer, Funds manager, Management consultant, Portfolio manager, Government policy advisor, Insurance consultant, Investment analyst.
