The major in interactivity and games complements the traditional understanding of media with the practical use of interactive technology. Today, people expect interactivity in all forms of media. Students will gain basic production skills in videogames, interactive websites, modelling and animation, sound and audio, and non-linear storytelling, a critical understanding of these areas. The program covers interactive media, including the web and games, from a technical and a theoretical perspective. Students will gain skills in technical production, and awareness of the cultural and social impacts and influences on design work.
Good knowledge of Mathematics and Computer Science.
Gaining of knowledge related to The Social and Historical Context, Introduction to Professional Experience in the Secondary School, Curriculum and Instruction in Secondary School, Professional Experience in Secondary School, Economics and Business Studies in the Secondary School, English in the Secondary School, Geography in the Secondary School, History in the Secondary School, Mathematics in the Secondary School, Languages in the Secondary School, Science in the Secondary School, Introduction to Digital Media, Introduction to Video Games, Game Design, Screenwriting: An Introduction, Interactive Web Design, Modelling and Animation, Critical Games Studies, Screenwriting: Images, Ideas, Stories, Advanced Interactivity, Movement, Performance and Digital Media, Sound, Image and Interactive Media are the concepts included as major parts in this course.
This course is accredited by Australian Computer Society.
Students of this course will have career in filmmaking and special effects consultant, educator, journalist, media consultant, researcher, web and game developer.
