This major delivers sound training in the latest web technologies that are relevant to build client-server web applications. It provides insight into state-of-the-art web design practice and addresses emerging topics such as cloud-computing or the web as a big-data platform. After working on a capstone project in industry in your final year, students will be able to transform user requirements into industry-standard web applications using your design and programming skills. Unique interdisciplinary major offered in close collaboration between the Department of Computing and the Department of Media, Music, Communication and Cultural Studies. Students will have highly practically relevant topics from interactive web design to complete client-server applications. Students will learn how to link, share and reuse data across application, enterprise and community boundaries.
Good knowledge of Mathematics and Computer Science.
Gaining of knowledge related to Introduction to Computer Science, Introduction to Systems Design and Data Management, Introduction to Digital Media, Data Communications, Web Technology, Database Systems, Interactive Web Design, Web Technology, Capstone/Participation, E-Commerce Technology, Document Processing and the Semantic Web, Advanced Interactivity, Technology Management are the concepts included as major parts in this course.
This course is accredited by Australian Computer Society.
