In addition to teacher education programs, the Institute of Early Childhood offers the opportunity to study a range of subjects which can lead to a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Early Childhood Studies. A major in the understanding of children (from birth through to 12 years) enables students to work in a variety of areas including policy development, community services, and the media. The Institute of Early Childhood provides units of study which consider the development of children (including those with disabilities). Young children’s learning and experience of the arts, literacy, mathematics, science and technology is explored, as well as the management principles and skills necessary for leadership positions in children’s services.

Gaining of knowledge related to Accounting Information for Decision-Making, Techniques and Elements of Finance, Principles of Management, Microeconomic Principles, Introduction to Human Resources, Introduction to Business Information Systems, Marketing Fundamentals, Fundamentals of Management Accounting, Introduction to Global Business, Business Law, Consumer Demographics, Business Forecasting, Strategic Management, Play and Inquiry in Early Childhood, Infancy and Early Development, Child Development 4-12 Years, Individual Educational Project are the concepts included as major parts un this course.
Students may satisfy the English language requirements if they have completed: senior secondary studies equivalent to the NSW HSC, one year of Australian or comparable tertiary study in a country of qualification.
