In addition to teacher education programs, the Institute of Early Childhood offers the opportunity to study a range of subjects which can lead to a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Early Childhood Studies. A major in the understanding of children (from birth through to 12 years) enables students to work in a variety of areas including policy development, community services, and the media. The Institute of Early Childhood provides units of study which consider the development of children (including those with disabilities). Young children’s learning and experience of the arts, literacy, mathematics, science and technology is explored, as well as the management principles and skills necessary for leadership positions in children’s services.

Gaining of knowledge related to Criminal Justice and Procedure, Foundations of Law, Contracts, Law, Lawyers and Society, Torts, Jurisprudence, Property Law, Equity and Trusts, Business Organizations, International Law, Constitutional Law, Administrative Law, Civil and Criminal Procedure, Remedies, Reparations and Resolution in Law, Play and Inquiry in Early Childhood, Infancy and Early Development, Child Development 4-12 Years, Individual Educational Project are the concepts included as major parts un this course.
Students may satisfy the English language requirements if they have completed: senior secondary studies equivalent to the NSW HSC, one year of Australian or comparable tertiary study in a country of qualification.
