Electronics engineers design, build, manufacture, install and manage systems based on modern electronics technology. Phones, MP3 players, sound mixing desks and other digital devices have all been created by electronics engineers. Completion of this major as part of the Bachelor of Engineering will prepare students for a career in electronics engineering. Students will study: analogue and digital engineering, computer hardware, computer networking, instrumentation and control, information technology, mathematics and physics, optical technology and photonics, telecommunication systems and wireless technology. The Bachelor of Engineering degree is flexible, with a strong focus on practical learning. Students can combine this major with one of the following as a major or minor of the Bachelor of Engineering: computer, mechanical, mechatronic, software, and telecommunications engineering.

Gaining of knowledge related to Accounting Information for Decision-Making, Techniques and Elements of Finance, Principles of Management, Microeconomic Principles, Introduction to Engineering, Marketing Fundamentals, Introductory Statistics, Statistical Data Analysis, Engineering Practice, Engineering Project Practices, Engineering Research Thesis, Systems Design and Engineering, Engineering Principles and Practice, Introduction to Computer Science, Digital Fundamentals and Numerical Techniques, Electro mechanics, Mathematics, Thermodynamics, Relativity and Fields, Particles and Waves, Physics, Signals and Systems, Programmable Logic Design, Nonlinear Circuits and Devices, Circuits and Devices, Introduction to Mechatronics, Engineering Dynamics, Thermodynamics and Fluids, Mechanical Design, Mechanics of Solids, Communication Systems, Feedback Control and Dynamic Systems, Digital Systems Design, Electronic Devices and Systems, Engineering Mathematics, Advanced Electronics Engineering are the concepts included as major parts in this course.
Students are eligible to this course if they have HSC Mathematics (Band 4) or HSC Physics or Chemistry, Engineering Studies, Senior Science, Information Processes and Technology and/or HSC Software Design and Development or international equivalents.
This course is accredited by Engineers Australia and recognised internationally.
Students of this course will have career as an electronics design and manufacturing engineer, project and technology manager, research and development engineer, telecommunication systems engineer.
