The Bachelor of Creative Arts (Photography) is a comprehensive program that will appeal to students who wish to develop clarity of personal vision as photographers in a diverse field of contemporary media. It is designed to refine critical understanding of the wider aspects of visual culture and to develop transferable skills. Photography is a global, pervasive visual culture practiced in journalism, fine art, social media, fashion, advertising, cinema and web design, and serves diverse purposes in science, medicine, criminology, anthropology, travel and tourism. This course provides the opportunity to immerse students in the theories, techniques and practices of the discipline of photography, whilst building pragmatic skills in a range of adjunct creative arts to connect theory and practice. Students will gain an understanding of how photography enables us to comprehend and visualise our social and cultural formation.

Gaining of knowledge related to Still Images, Pixel to Print: Digital Imaging, Texts and Images: Ways of Seeing, Reading and Telling Stories, Photographic Practice, Contemporary Photography, Advanced Imaging, Advanced Digital Imaging, Shifting Focus: Experimental Photography and Creative Practice, New Worlds: Intersections of Art and Science, Collaborative Major Creative Project, Studio and Professional Photography, Animation, Drama, Film Studies, Visual Arts, Visual Communication Design, Dance, Creative Industries Internship are the concepts included as major parts in this course.
This course is accredited by the Association of Photographers.
Students of this course will have career in theatre, drama associations, drama education, contemporary performance companies, education, film and television production, performing arts centres or community theatre in Australia.
