This degree will give the in-depth understanding and skills needed to navigate the political environment. This course provides a window into all the drama and passion of power in the modern world and the factors and forces that shape contemporary international affairs. Students will also be taught by internationally-awarded public policy researchers and practitioners from Griffith's School of Government and International Relations and learn the skills critical to thrive in government, business and society. This degree will expand student’s horizons and prepares students for a vast range of careers in government and non-government organizations, both in Australia and overseas. In addition a comprehensive knowledge of political institutions and processes, business-government relations and foreign policy and globalization with a major in International Relations of Asia or Politics and Public Policy supplement studies with a specialization.

Major studies include understanding of the social and business dynamics of the region. Students will be encouraged to develop career and research skills.This course will give insights into Asian culture, society, religion, history, politics, environment, communication and business organisations, which are relevant to future careers.
Students can also look forward to a stimulating career in government, business, the community or media. There are opportunities for graduates to work in a range of fulfilling and challenging roles including providing advice to government and business leaders, developing policy and managing programs with domestic and international organizations in a variety of areas. These include economic, environmental and social policy, diplomacy and strategic analysis and trade relations.
A minimum overall band score of 6.5 on IELTS (Academic) with no sub-score of less than 6.0, a minimum score of 575 on TOEFL, internet-based (iBT) TOEFL score of 88 (no score less than 21).
