The Graduate Diploma of Research Studies (Business) is an 80 credit point program that provides an alternative route for entry into a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) program for applicants who do not possess the required qualifications for direct admission. On successful completion of the program, students will be granted admission to MPhil or PhD candidature subject to fulfilment of requirements for candidature as specified in the Higher Degree Research policy and successful completion of the confirmation procedure. The grade achieved will determine entry to either a PhD or MPhil candidature. The Griffith Business School will be responsible for the overall supervision of the student and monitoring their progress throughout the program. Direct entry into the Graduate Diploma of Research Studies (Business) is not available. This program is only available as a pathway to students applying for entry to a Higher Degree by Research program (PhD or MPhil) who do not meet direct entry requirements.

In this course the major studies includes development of skills in problem solving and written and oral communications. Student will also study International Relations as part of a double major with: History, Japanese, Journalism, Geography (Sustainable Development), Anthropology and Sociology, Asian Studies, Business Law (Business), Chinese, Economics (Business).International Relations is offered as part of the Bachelor of Arts. Students can enhance studies with a secondary major or choose from a range of elective units to support your career goals. Students can also study international Relations as part of the Bachelor of Laws, Bachelor of Arts double degree. When coupled with Business Law or Economics students can complete this major as part of our Bachelor of Arts or our Bachelor of Commerce.
Up on completing this degree from Griffith university students become eligible to apply for admission to one or more of the following professional bodies such as Australian Human Resource Institute, The Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS).
Graduates of this program will be able to plan and conduct research in business and commerce, and therefore will be well-placed for positions in the private, not for profit and public sectors. In addition, graduates will also be able to progress to higher degree by research programs, thereby preparing them for high level research careers. Students who have successfully completed the Graduate Diploma of Research Studies (and have achieved a GPA of 5.0 or higher with a grade of Credit in the thesis component) are eligible to be admitted into the MPhil program subject to fulfilment of requirements for candidature as specified in the Higher Degree Research policy and successful completion of the confirmation procedure.
An overall band score of 6.5 on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with no band score less than 6.0,a minimum score of 580 on the Paper-based Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) including a score of no less than 5.0 on the
