The Master of Finance and Investments program offers advanced level training in finance and provides a solid understanding of investment principles with a strong appreciation of ethical and professional standards. In this course students need to develop the skills to critically analyze contemporary issues in the investment profession, whether it relates to stock markets, fixed-income instruments, derivatives, and portfolio or wealth management. Moreover, students will develop the skills and knowledge required to undertake major research-based project relevant to finance and investments. The program is aimed at high achieving graduates with a bachelor's degree in finance seeking to upgrade their knowledge and skills.
Basic knowledge of accounts.
Major studies include Accounting principles, Auditing ,taxation ,relevant areas of business law,financial management. Students can also examine the development and communication of information relating to the financial performance of organisations, learn to prepare reports and give advice on an organisation's record-keeping and compliance requirements.
Up on completing this degree from Griffith university students become eligible to apply for admission to one or more of the following professional bodies such as Australian Human Resource Institute, The Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS).
Upon completion of the program, graduates will be competitive in the market for positions in mutual funds, superannuation funds, banks, insurance companies, treasury and stockbroking. Other careers might include foreign exchange dealers, futures and options traders, portfolio managers, risk analysts and financial advisers.
A minimum overall band score of 7.0 on IELTS (Academic) with no sub-score of less than 6.5, a minimum score of 580 on TOEFL or an internet-based (iBT) TOEFL score of 92 (no score less than 22).
1 year full-time,(2 semesters plus 1 summer semester), 2 years part-time
