This program focuses on the implementation, application and evaluation of computer-based information and multimedia systems with a balanced emphasis on theory and technology and their critical aspects in practice. In this course students will develop a strong foundation in group management processes, project management and technical skills using state-of-the-art technology. Students will also gain the core skills needed to design and develop information systems, products and services and hone them on practical projects for external clients to give the first-hand experience needed to succeed within the industry.

Major studies include gaining of IT skills, manage and develop business information systems for accounting, marketing and finance. Development of skills related to mobile commerce, wireless networks, social media, managing customer and supplier relationships, cloud computing. Gaining of skills needed to create, develop and deploy multimedia products, content and applications. In this course students need to focus on the scientific basis of multimedia technologies, art and design, particularly graphic and audiovisual communication, and the development of an aesthetic sense, management techniques and financial issues related to multimedia production is also involved.
The Bachelor of Information Technology and the Bachelor of Multimedia are accredited by the Australian Computer Society.
Up on completion of this course from Griffith university students will find a stimulating career in the rapidly advancing technology industry in fields such as Internet usage, electronic marketing and publishing and futuristic sound and video production.
A minimum overall band score of 6.5 on IELTS (Academic) with no sub-score of less than 6.0, a minimum score of 575 on TOEFL or an internet-based (iBT) TOEFL score of 88 (no score less than 21).
