This program provide students with a wide ranging and diverse base of specialist health management courses. They are tailored for graduates or managers of health services wanting to develop their skills and understanding of contemporary health service management issues. The program provides students with skills and knowledge in modern management theory and practice including improved understanding of health workforce planning, strategic health planning and human resources management, health program planning and implementation skills, increased knowledge of performance management, understanding of how health services are funded and how to manage health budgets, develop skills in strategic decision making and change management, in depth understanding of the role of technology in health management, research skills in project facilitation of local and international projects, the opportunity to learn from respected industry practitioners and academics, work on an honors project that is directly relevant to organization’s strategic direction.

In this course students will study business topics critical to health care management, Network with medical leaders from multiple disciplines and institutions, Develop leading-edge management initiatives. Students will also gain knowledge related to healthcare systems administration, patient rights and responsibilities, healthcare policy and healthcare finance. Important skills and theoretical understanding necessary to achieve a successful career in the growing field of health services management is also studied.
The Master of Health Services Management (Advanced) (incorporating Honors) is accredited by the Australasian College of Health Service Management.
Health Services Management graduates are being sought throughout Australia and internationally, with the increasing demands for qualified managers in developing improved health services, particularly in Asia and the subcontinent. There is a strong demand for graduates of this program to have health industry experience, thus completion of the program increases employability for Australian and international students. Careers may be available for professionals interested in moving into the health services area or for mid-career health professionals seeking advancement in their area of work or wishing to broaden their expertise and/or moving into management in the following areas health policy and program development, health management, health program planning and evaluation, research in health management and systems, project/program management, international health.
A minimum score of 575 on TOEFL, an internet-based (iBT) TOEFL score of 88 (no score less than 21) or a minimum overall band score of 6.5 on IELTS (Academic) with no sub-score of less than 6.0.
