This degree enables students to apply for teacher registration if students undertake the specialization/s in Adult and Vocational Teaching and Vocational Education and Training (VET) in schools. The specialization in Human Resource Development does not lead to teacher registration. A Bachelor of Training exit point is also available for students working as tutors in TAFE or as workplace trainers, but does not lead to eligibility to apply for teacher registration. Students who successfully complete the first year may exit the program with the Associate Diploma of Vocational Instruction.

Major studies includes enhancement of skills in teaching and learning preparing them with skills in the assessment of student learning and the evaluation of training programs. Understanding of the broad socio-economic and political context in which adult and vocational education and training is located. Development of knowledge about adolescents and adults, and learning and skills in and knowledge of training in workplace environments.
Graduating with a major in Adult and Vocational Teaching and either Adult Literacy and Numeracy or VET in Schools will makes students eligible to apply for registration with the Queensland College of Teachers.
Students will be qualified to work in the vocational education and training sector, including TAFE, industry and private training providers, post compulsory schooling, adult and community education, or in a human resource development roles, in both the private and public sectors.
English language requirements apply to International applicants and domestic applicants with English as a second language. The minimum English language requirements for such applicants for entry to these programs are as follows An average band score of 7.
