This program provides the opportunity to complete both the Bachelor of Biomedical Science and Bachelor of Biomedical Science with Honors programs in three years. Students will be introduced to medical research under the guidance of an academic staff mentor. Advanced research training is undertaken within the laboratories of the Griffith Institute for Health and Medical Research. This program develops the knowledge and skills in modern biosciences and clinical sciences, emphasizing their application to biomedical research, medicine and the health science professions. The program provides a pathway to PhD studies.

Major studies include gaining of skills, knowledge and key theoretical insights required to work effectively within an extensive range of professional scientific environments is studied.
Graduates become eligible to join the Australian Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, the Australian Society for Medical Research, Australian Society for Microbiology, the Australasian Society for Human Biology and the Australia and New Zealand Society for Cell and Developmental Biology.
After pursuing this degree from Griffith university students will get employment in modern medicine, biomedical scientists are highly prized by hospitals, health departments, biomedical research institutes, university and government research organizations, and in the pharmaceutical, diagnostic, biotechnology and other health-related industries. Students will be well placed to apply for Griffith's graduate entry medical program, the Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery, undertake a PhD for a career as a research scientist, or enroll in one of Griffith's postgraduate coursework masters programs.
A minimum overall band score of 6.5 on IELTS (Academic) with no sub-score of less than 6.0, a minimum score of 575 on TOEFLor an internet-based (iBT) TOEFL score of 88 (no score less than 21).
