In this course students will be introduced to the basic sciences underpinning biomedical science - anatomy, chemistry, biochemistry, genes and disease, microbiology, physiology, molecular genetics and psychology. In second year, Students need to study these areas in greater depth and take medically focused courses in immunology, infectious disease, pharmacology, metabolism, biochemistry, health, law and ethics and epidemiology. Students will also have the opportunity to study a number of non-science courses from a broad range of offerings across the University.

In this course students will gain knowledge related to life science, health science and medicine. Studies in this field encompass all fields of science that involve the scientific study of living organisms such as plants, animals, and human beings. Medicine and biology are the major fields of study the area.
Students will graduate fully prepared to commence studies towards a degree in medicine, which is pathway to a number of rewarding careers including specialist clinical practice, primary care medicine, biomedical research and healthcare services.
