This program provides in-depth clinical training and offers professional experiences through participation in industry-based projects. This program also prepares students for continuation into a higher degree by research following completion of the dissertation component. Students will be trained to make physiological measurements in a clinical situation and to aid in the diagnosis of disease and the management of patients, with emphasis on an understanding of physiological and pathophysiological processes. The Master of Clinical Science with Honors incorporates the following specializations such as Applied Clinical Genetics: This specialization will meet the needs of health professionals and others who wish to acquire advanced knowledge and research skills in clinical genetics (with a scientific focus), Clinical Microbiology: Students are trained to undertake and accept responsibility for the array of diagnostic procedures required in the clinical and public health microbiology laboratories, Clinical Physiology: Students are trained to make physiological measurements in a clinical situation and to aid in the diagnosis of disease and the management of patients, with emphasis on an understanding of physiological and pathophysiological processes.
