The Bachelor of Oral Health in Dental Science involves development of the theoretical knowledge underpinning dental practice, extensive simulation and prosthetic exercises, followed by students' first clinical experience with patients in the Griffith Dental Clinic. This program is designed to expose students to a variety of clinical competencies, knowledge and attributes leading to a comprehensive care approach when treating patients. Completion of both programs enables you to apply for registration with the Dental Board of Australia (and equivalent New Zealand authorities) as a dentist.

The major studies focuses on gaining of knowledge in oral biosciences and biomedical foundations in oral health. This course emphasizes the importance of prevention as a goal and introduces clinical practice. Development of the knowledge and clinical skills needed for the care of individual patients. Exploring the principles and philosophies underlying health promotion for individuals and the community are also involved as major concept of study.
The Bachelor of Oral Health in Dental Science is accredited by the Australian Dental Council.
As a dentist, Students will be in demand in private practice, public hospitals, school dental clinics or the armed services. Students may also decide to continue training to become a specialist or to engage in research activities.
A minimum overall band score of 7.0 on IELTS (Academic) with no sub-score of less than 6.5,a minimum score of 580 on TOEFL or an internet-based (iBT) TOEFL score of 92 (no score less than 22).
