This graduate diploma is intended for overseas trained graduates and lawyers to complete the further academic study required to practice locally. This is a bridging course for overseas qualified lawyers. It is provided primarily for those people who have fulfilled the requirements of an undergraduate law degree and been admitted to practice, usually in another country, and have been advised by the Legal Practice Board of Western Australia to undertake extra units of study in order to be admitted to practice in this State. The Legal Practice Board of Western Australia will instruct students regarding which areas of law is needed to complete and satisfy admission requirements.
Basic knowledge of law and general knowledge.
Major studies include development of basic skills related to legal practice.
International students must have a bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in a relevant discipline (where required), completed to a sufficiently high standard.
This course is accredited by Australasian Professional Legal Education Council (APLEC) and Law Admissions Consultative Committee (LACC) Competency Standards for Entry Level Lawyers.
This degree will provide skills, expertise, knowledge and understanding, which will assist students in taking the next step .After pursuing this degree students can work as Lawyer.
