Occupational therapy is an exciting profession that opens up many opportunities for graduates. Many will work in health and social care settings but an increasing number will create new roles to address some of the major issues impacting on Australia and other areas of the world. The program will provide students with the theory and skills to work as an occupational therapist in any setting. Students will undertake a number of placements including an innovative placement where students will have the opportunity to make mark in an important area.
Good knowledge of occupation therapy
Major studies include development of foundational skills in the knowledge and skills of occupational therapy and the relevant biological and behavioral sciences.
The Bachelor of Occupational Therapy has been approved by the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia and accredited with conditions by the Occupational Therapy Council and Occupational Therapy Australia.
In this program, Students will gain a strong understanding of the philosophy of occupational therapy and the core practice skills and processes enabling students to work with individuals, groups and entire communities in a range of health and social care settings. A hallmark of this program will be that it will prepare students to work in exciting new areas that are opening up for occupational therapists including charities, the private sector and policy development areas.
A minimum overall band score of 7.0 on IELTS (Academic) with no sub-score of less than 7.0, a minimum score of 580 on TOEFL or an internet-based (iBT) TOEFL score of 92 (no score less than 22). English test results must be no more than two years old.
