Professional sports management is becoming increasingly complex and demand is rising for comprehensively trained specialists to work with national and state sporting bodies, corporate organizations, local clubs and individuals. This integrated program combines a strong foundation in the physical and biomedical sciences with business and management studies, to give a thorough understanding of both exercise science and the governance of sport.
The sports industry is very broad and career options are equally diverse. Employment prospects are strong in both the public and private sector. Career opportunities range from sports and recreation management, sports science and high performance management, to events management or country club and recreational club management. Completion of this program also gives graduates the opportunity to apply for entry into the Master of Physiotherapy as well as further educational opportunities in medicine and a range of allied health professions.
