Music technology is at the center of much of today's modern music whether it is for the recording industry, concert events, or online. This program will teach students how to blend musical talents with acquired technical skills and developed artistic ability so that students need to progress a thorough understanding the role technology plays in the creation of music through production, recording and performance to the course will help you apply those skills and that knowledge professionally. This program offers a broad-based and integrated musical education including musicianship, performance and ensemble activities and computer and studio-based music technology skills. Students will be exposed to musical styles and idioms. Students will gain invaluable practical experience in applying creative technology to real situations by working with an extensive range of studios, labs, events and ensembles at the Conservatorium. This program also encompasses music technology and its applications in areas such as Commercial and studio music recording, Computing and sound editing, Generative music, live sound recording and reinforcement, MIDI and media techniques, Music for moving image, Music industry studies, Sound, acoustic and timbral studies, Sound composition, Work-integrated learning.

Major studies provides students with a core of essential courses in music that will establish a foundation for informed appreciation of music and a basis for further study.
Up on completion of this degree from Griffith university students get accreditation by the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM) and approved by the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA).
After graduation students will have the knowledge and skills to work creatively as a professional music technologist producing, performing and recording music and applying emerging technologies to the work of other musical professionals. This degree may lead students to a career in live sound, multimedia, recording studios, musical composition, theatres and performance venues or the media, broadcast and film industries. In this course students will gain detailed knowledge related to Artist, Performer, Multi-media Artist, Installation Artist, and Composer. Business or Merchandising: Broadcast Industry, Concert Promotion, Music Merchant/Salesperson, Music Law, Music Promotion, Record labels, Synchronization (music for moving image).
A minimum overall band score of 6.5 on IELTS (Academic) with no sub-score of less than 6.0, a minimum score of 575 on TOEFL or an internet-based (iBT) TOEFL score of 88 (no score less than 21). English test results must be no more than two years old.
