This Honors program consists of research training and completion of a research project in the School of Bimolecular and Physical Sciences. This degree will be assessed by coursework, research project performance, thesis and seminar.
Good knowledge of biology.
Major studies include gaining of core knowledge necessary to understand the chemical principles underpinning biology and the option to explore aspects of the subject of interest to them through a set of electives drawn from current course offerings in chemistry, biophysics and MCDB. Major studies also includes combination of fundamental knowledge in cellular biology, biochemistry and genetics and laboratory skills in molecular biology to provide students with a strong foundation to participate in biotechnology R & D.
The Australian Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and AusBiotech recognise graduates of this award.
It is expected that graduates of the program will be able to plan and conduct quality research and contribute as part of a team to the research culture of their specialty.
A minimum overall band score of 6.5 on IELTS (Academic) with no sub-score of less than 6.0, a minimum score of 575 on TOEFL or an internet-based (iBT) TOEFL score of 88 (no score less than 21). English test results must be no more than two years old.
