This program will enable students to take advantage of professional creative opportunities, not only on the Gold Coast, but nationally and internationally. This course offers students rich opportunities to broaden and improve employment prospects, through cross-study and specialization in digital design, 3D design, photo media, studio art and graphic design. During first year students will study core courses which address basic skills and knowledge as well as undertaking a Studio Foundation component in which students become competent in the basic skill of their Award Major. In second semester students will also have the flexibility to choose an elective major in another area.

In this course major studies include gaining of skills related to entertainment arts, the film and broadcasting industries, management services to business, advertising and public relations, publishing, web development, media production, journalism, advocacy, communications, library science, archival research. The program emphasizes media agency in all aspects of study, requiring students to acquire the knowledge, skills and confidence necessary to engage with contemporary media in a wide range of contexts from advocacy to management to production.
The Design Institute of Australia (DIA) and the Media Entertainment and Arts Association (MEAA) recognise graduates of this award.
Graduates will be well prepared for a dynamic future in industries that demand high professional standards and value creativity and innovative thinking. Depending upon major studies may include publishing and packaging, advertising and marketing, television, digital media, web and games production, exhibitions and trade shows, film and television modelling, set design and signage, fashion, arts education, administration and curatorship, professional art practice, photography.
A minimum overall band score of 6.0 on IELTS (Academic) with no sub-score of less than 5.5, a minimum score of 550 on TOEFL or an internet-based (iBT) TOEFL score of 79 (no score less than 19). English test results must be no more than two years old.
