This course provides a comprehensive hands-on education in professional motion picture and video production. In this course students will develop knowledge and skills in production, direction, camera, sound, lighting, editing, digital compositing, scriptwriting and research and explore new forms of digital media including video for the World Wide Web and desktop. This program includes supervised work placement to help students to develop advanced skills so that students will be ready to make an informed and creative contribution to the film, television and interactive media industries.
Major studies include development of skills related to audio and audio production skills in the university’s specialist studio facilities using a range of industry standard equipment and software. Development of skills related to audio production and to musical instruments, digital signal processing, audio software design and development, physical computing and audio interface design and electronic engineering is involved as major concept of study.
Students will be ideally positioned for a career in the mainstream film and television industries, or online production, film festivals and awards, advertising and video/digital art practice. Student’s knowledge of the diversity of forms, techniques and resources available, together with production capabilities, will give an edge within chosen field.
A minimum overall band score of 6.5 on IELTS (Academic) with no sub-score of less than 6.0, a minimum score of 575 on TOEFL or an internet-based (iBT) TOEFL score of 88 (no score less than 21).English test results must be no more than two years old.
