This course provides candidates with the extensive knowledge and analytical skills required to meet challenges facing the maritime and transport logistics industry to enhance career opportunities in management positions at both local and international levels. The Graduate Diploma aims to help candidates develop a holistic and analytical perspective of the industry.
Major knowledge about Maritime and Logistics Management.
Major studies focus on equipping of high level of understanding of the maritime and logistics industries. By combining all the units of a traditional MBA with a strong maritime and logistics focus the program will prepare students for employment in the maritime and logistics industries, strong international business focus.
A first degree in Business or an associated discipline such as Commerce, Economics, Law, Management, Transport and Distribution, Maritime Studies or Marine Engineering, and Two years work experience, or, applicants who do not hold a first degree, but have relevant professional qualifications such as a Class 1 Certificate of Competency can apply, provided they have work experience at a level considered by the Course Coordinator to be equivalent or  if a first degree or professional qualification is not held, prospective candidates may apply to the Course Coordinator for consideration. Applicants are assessed on their work experience and current managerial responsibilities. For non-degree holders, an official GMAT score may also be required. International students with English as a second language will need to have an IELTS score
The students who have commenced or completed the Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma of Maritime and Logistics Management from University Of Tasmania can move into the MBA (MLM) program with credit for units successfully completed, provided the MBA(MLM) course requirements are met.Candidates can progress to a research program by applying for entry to the Master of Philosophy or Doctor of Philosophy.
The course offers Senior management positions within organisations involved in the international maritime and transport sectors.
