The Applied Accounting program is designed to provide with the necessary skills to provide entry level accounting support. In addition to developing basic accounting and computer skills, the program includes courses in general business practices.While the program highlights accounting topics, emphasis will also be placed on: Mathematics , Business management , Communication , Records management , Business software .

Graduates of the Bachelor of Business in Applied Accounting gain professional membership in the accounting profession through associate membership status with one of the three national accounting bodies: CPA Australia, the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, or the National Institute of Accountants.Challenger TAFE Diploma of Accounting graduates are also awarded one year of credit and can enter this course at the start of year two.
The course provides an opportunity for successful graduates to gain employment in the business field specialising in accounting. It provides a platform for those students wishing to develop a professional career that is well paid and provides both national and international working opportunities. The graduates can also work as Sales Managers, Credit Manager, Financial Planner / Financial Consultant.
